Why should you upgrade your switchboard

42% of homeowners have an old switchboard in their home, unaware of the safety risks!

Houses built before 1970 are likely to have older switchboards that are not up to standards with current NZ regulations and often don’t have an RCD protection. RCD’s (Residual Current Devices) protect your house and appliances as they cut out electricity when a dangerous situation is detected.

To give you a piece of mind, an electrical inspection will for example determine if the switchboard or any cables in your house are worn or deteriorated and, therefore, a serious fire risk.

What are the benefits of upgrading your switchboard?

  • Lesser risk of potential fires and electrocution

  • Cleaner look and labelled circuits

  • Save money on electrical call outs

  • RCD shock protection devices

Electrical safety is not a topic to take lightly, so please contact us for a home assessment where we can talk you through which electrical upgrades would be necessary or optional.

Optional upgrades could be LED replacements or switch and socket relocations.
